HTC One M8 vs BlackBerry Z30?

Posted: 25 Apr 2014 03:27 PM PDT

Hey,

Been a long time since I have posted. I am at a crossroads here, I am in dire need of an upgrade.

My current iPhone 4S is annoying me beyond belief, and I want/need a slightly larger screen. I have been a BlackBerry fan for a while, and stupidly bought an Apple on impulse, now I want rid of it.

Got my hands on a demo HTC One M8 a couple of weeks back, and really love it. The infra red sensor is also a nice feature.

I have some friends with the BBZ 10 or 30, and either they love them or hate them. A co worker loves the camera on his BBZ30, but nothing else about it. I have a Nikon D5100 for serious pics.

I am really thinking I will go HTC, as I had a Touch-Diamond in the past, and loved it.

What is the opinion here? Will be for personal use, with an occasional use at work.

How is the newest version of Android? Stable? I have an old Samsung Galaxy tab, a bit crash at times, but then again, my Apple freezes too.

Thanks,
Will

Phone plan for seniors

Posted: 20 Apr 2014 04:49 PM PDT

My in-laws are currently part of our Verizon plan. It is time to renew our plan and purchase new phones. With our current plan, we pay $10 per month for their line. This works because they might use 10 minutes of voice per year, no text, no data - basically emergency use. On a new plan with Verizon it would cost $30 per month, way more than they want to pay. Is there a plan to load a certain number of voice minutes on a phone and we can add to it when they use the minutes? We don't want minutes that will expire after 30 days. They'll never use them in that amount of time. Thanks for your input.

New Phones Coming Out In Summer 2014

Posted: 15 Apr 2014 12:11 PM PDT

We are about to entering to the summer 2014 season, in this season we have new upcoming phones which are expected to be released in the middle or end of the summer 2014. In this article we are going to mention the foremost ones of these new phones coming out in summer 2014, we have one from Apple and the other from Google Nexus. It seems that one of these both phones will make the buzz this summer the one from which is the iPhone 6 because it will be crucial for the company and for sure it should do its best to make a perfect product that can carry on the competition with the ruthless upcoming communities either Japanese or Korean ones. And the second new phone coming out in this summer 2014 is the Nexus 6 which going to be a light copy from the LG G3. We are going start by the iPhone 6 with the tedious details and everything you would loge to know and then we move to the Nexus 6's details.

1- iPhone 6

We have been always talking about iPhone 6 either in the upcoming phones in 2014 or our Apple section. But this time with new information and exact, date release and the price, specs also some pictures and other stuff..

This phone will be available in three types which are 64GB and 128GB also 256GB. Awesome, isn't it ? Yes, of course it is wonderful but you are not yet unless you see the specifications. The iPhone 6 has good specifications and high ones as well, let's see them just below:

Processor: A7 quad-core processor
Operating System: upgraded iOS 7
Storage: 16/32/64 and 128 GB. (As we mentioned above)
Camera: 3.2 megapixel face HD camera and 13 megapixel 3D rear camera
Display: 4.8 Retina plus Sharp LGZO display with 1080 HD resolution
Wi-Fi connectivity: 802,11ac Wi-Fi connectivity
Home button: Apple has the Retina + IGZO display and a new factor with no home button

About the price we really do expect the the prices would be just like 32GB model to cost £529, the 64GB model £599 and the 128GB model £699.

2- Nexus 6

Mr Sundar Pichai the who is the head of Android department in Google had talked about the next generation of nexus, he didn't name the generation but it is foreseeable to be Nexus 6. As we all know that LG is the one who Manufactured the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, just to make sure you should go and inspect if Nexus 5 based on LG G2 or note, and if the Nexus 4 based on LG Optimus G or note. This new phone coming out for this summer 2014 is as well expected to be made by LG. Let us see what this new phone will be like in specifications and what is the price and other interesting stuff, let us start with these specifications (rumours) :

Processor: Quad core 3000 MHz
OS: Android v4.4 (KitKat)
Wi-Fi connectivity: 3G, WiFi, NFC
Ram: 3 GB
Display: 5.2 Inch, 1080x1920 px display, IPS LCD
Camera: 13 MP Primary Camera, 5 MP Secondary
Storage: 32 GB Internal Memory
Battery: 3100 mAh, Li-Polymer battery

We expect to see this new upcoming phone for summer 2014 in October or November 2014. They were the most important new phones coming out in summer 2014, I hope you enjoyed reading this article and stay tuned there are lot of new upcoming phones just all you need is to subscribe in our newsletter below and thank you.

Three Phones to Choose From

Posted: 15 Apr 2014 08:38 AM PDT

My apology if I have posted this in the wrong place.

I own an LG G2 D800 on AT&T that has been giving me trouble with Wi-Fi. I was able to get it replaced since they detected that the Wi-Fi transmitter in the device was going bad. I now have the same problem on my replacement device. This is an issue, because AT&T only lets me have 5GB of data to use. I am always going over my limit of data since I can only use 4G correctly. I've decided to sell this phone, pay off my contract, and get a new phone.

Of course, I'm not going to want to go to a phone with downgraded hardware/performance than the G2. Luckily, two phones (HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5) recently came out; and are very appealing to me. I was researching specs and performance of both these devices, and found that the iPhone 5S outperforms both of these devices significantly in gaming. I like playing games like GTA: San Andreas on my phone, and the iPhone 5S seems to be the best device suited for gaming performance. However, the Galaxy S5 has the most features. The features includes a fingerprint scanner, Micro SD card slot, removable back, removable battery, heart rate sensor (which is kind of useless to me), etc. Then there's the One M8. It features the same processor as the S5, and many identical specs. However, it does not feature a removable back or fingerprint scanner. One exclusive feature though, is the incredible HTC Boomsound.

All three of these devices each have their own appeal and exclusive features. My question is, determining on the facts I can list bellow:

  • I own an iMac, which would compliment iOS 7
  • I am a heavy gamer
  • I need a device with a lot of support, and customization
  • Features are important, but looks are too
  • I need improvement over the G2, espically with Wi-Fi

could someone give me their opinion or recommendation on what device might suit me the best?

Desperate for a no-contract phone with ZERO internet access

Posted: 11 Apr 2014 08:00 AM PDT

Hi all --

I have OCD, and I find myself compulsively checking my email, checking internet, CONSTANTLY -- to the point where it's hampering my ability to get work done during the day. I'm a writer, and I spend most of my day in coffee shops on my laptop -- and having internet at my fingertips can really throw my day off. Of course, there are cognitive behaviorial therapy ways of dealing with this -- and I'm doing that -- but I need the immediate solution of removing internet from my life during the day but still being reachable.

Note that even mobile web -- that really crappy internet -- is too much. It will allow me to check email, and email is the bane of my existence.

I expect to use, max, 10 minutes a month of talk and 20 texts a month. This is not an everyday phone. This is a phone that I can bring with me when I'm on deadline, so I can leave internet and distracting emails behind, but still be reachable by my fiance/family in case of an emergency. My day-to-day phone is an iPhone 4.

One other option that I'd be open to is a cheap, no contract-phone that allows me to turn off internet and only turn it back on with a password. This way I could set a random password, throw the password away, and never be able to turn internet on.

Greatly appreciate any help!

Mobile Phone with Missed Call Auto Reply

Posted: 04 Apr 2014 05:52 AM PDT

Is there any phone available in market with missed call auto reply functionality? No Smart Phones please

Strange occurance

Posted: 20 Mar 2014 06:36 AM PDT

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy SIII with ATT.

As I was sitting watching TV I heard someone saying Hello? Hello? Hello? several times. Finally I got up thinking it was on the computer but it turned out to be the phone which was lit up and in the speaker phone mode. And the voice which had a heavy accent maybe India was a live person still saying hello. So I said hello and they responded asking for some name. I said 'I can't understand what you are saying'. And they said 'Oh okay' and disconnected.

I had not made any calls that day so how without me answering it did a connection open with a caller and in speaker phone mode?

Does anybody have any theories? Does this happen to other people often?

How-to: Transfer Contacts From an iPhone to the VIVO Xplay 3S

Posted: 03 Apr 2014 04:03 AM PDT

Transferring Contacts Using iTunes:

iTunes can be used to sync contacts from your iPhone with your Google account, thus allowing you to sync the contacts with your Android smartphone. For this method, you need access to a computer with Internet access, and iTunes installed. If you don't have iTunes, visit the official Apple website and download the client.

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Use the proprietary USB cable to connect your iPhone to your PC
  3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it to view its summary page
  4. Access the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box, and select "Google Contacts" from the drop-down list
  6. Enter your Google account's username and password. If you've already registered an account in iTunes, you can click "Configure" and choose an existing account
  7. To begin the syncing process, click "Apply"
  8. On the Xplay 3S, register the same Google account as the one used for syncing in iTunes. To register an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Allow Google to sync contacts with your Android device

Transferring Contacts Using iCloud:

If you've used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone, then your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. By logging in with your iCloud account, you can export your iPhone contacts in the form of a VCF file. For this approach you need a computer with Internet access.

  1. On your computer, launch the Internet browser and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account and click "Contacts"
  3. From the contact list, select the contacts that you want to export
  4. Click the icon depicting a cog wheel, and select "Export vCard". The file will be downloaded on your computer
  5. Once you have the file, import it to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, connect your Xplay 3S to your computer via USB, copy the vCard file to the "sdcard" directory, and import the file's contents through the people application, and the "Import / Export" function

Transferring Contacts through My Contacts Backup:

"My Contacts Backup" is an iOS application that allows you to transfer your contacts to an Android device without the need of a computer. The app can compile your contacts in a VCF file, which can be transferred to your Xplay 3S via email. To do so:

  1. Visit the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap "Backup"
  3. After the VCF file is created, tap "Email" in order to attach the vCard to the email
  4. Send the mail to your own Gmail account
  5. On the VIVO Xplay 3S, open the email and download the attached vCard file
  6. Import the file's contents using the people application

Transferring Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

Last but not least, you can transfer your iPhone contacts to your Xplay 3S using Send Anywhere. This is an iOS and Android application which uses a peer-2-peer connection in order to transfer contacts and various other file types. Once again, for this method you are not required to have access to a computer.

  1. Launch the Google Play Store on your Xplay 3S and download "Send Anywhere"
  2. From the App Store, install the app on your iPhone
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send"
  5. Select "Contacts"
  6. Mark the contacts that you wish to share and tap "Send"
  7. Next up, select the desired method of sharing. You can tap "Generate QR Code" to generate a code that can be scanned with the Xplay 3S' camera in order to commence the transfer. Alternatively, you can tap "Receive" on the Android device, and type in the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone
