Which cell phone with thumb keyboard and long standby time Posted: 24 Jan 2015 03:10 PM PST First time posting here, I have quite limited knowledge about new cell phones, and I am not looking for high end smart phones. Looking for a simple, robust cell phone, with full, solid, thumb keyboard and long battery/standby time. This phone will be used sporadically as basic phone (max 2-3 hours a week) and for SMS. Very important feature is the long battery life, preferably a week between charges, so I do not have to look where to charge it, especially when traveling and spending few days on planes, airports, cars and buses. As I mention, it will be used just as a basic phone, for SMS, and nothing else. When I need more, I use laptop. Regarding configuration, ideal would be classic BalckBerry style, or one of those with sliding keyboard. Also, dual SIM card will be a nice feature. Since I am contractor, going from one area to another, phone must be unlocked. Refurbished phone is OK. Please advise which model will the best for me, and who has the best deals. BTW, I am located near Toronto, Canada. Thanks to all!

Samsung Galaxy S5 with Verizon keeps going from 4G LTE to 3G Posted: 26 Dec 2014 08:24 AM PST Hello all, My wife and I recently got Samsung Galaxy S5 phones (with Verizon). We live in the Boston area though signal strength at our house seems low (the meter in the top right is always 1 or 2 bars) but we're always on Wifi at home so it's not a big deal. I noticed that on her phone, it seems to go from 4G LTE to 3G a lot more often than mine does (according to the upper right). Switching on and off Airplane mode puts it back on 4G but after a random time it eventually switches back to 3G. Could the signal strength somehow be affecting this? I first thought that but I'm not sure why it affects her phone more than my phone. How much slower is 3G vs 4G LTE? Any other thoughts on what might be causing this?

Deleting Gmail from Samsung Galaxy S5 Posted: 13 Jan 2015 10:52 AM PST In the phone tutorials on the phone and online, I've seen info on setting up and deleting a gmail account, but nothing on how to select and delete gmail (i.e. delete all) or a portion thereof (i.e. via a shift feature). Also haven't seen any info on thereafter emptying deleted gmail from the trash bin. Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

Given up on wet phone is there a way to rescue numbers ? Posted: 09 Jan 2015 03:26 PM PST My Lg was sat overnight in a puddle of water on table (cats) hubby got up in middle of night could hear a weird buzzing...ooops there it was!, took out battery, sim and he just left it but left it so all the water would've run deeper into the phone Arrrrgh! When I got up I turned it over and put it outside to dry ( I live in the sunshine state). I just brought it in after 9 hrs drying time, aimed a hairdryer on cool the from quite a distance over it let it cool and put battery back in ..still just buzzes with nothing on screen urrggh!. OK I have ordered another phone (S4) Since it looks hopeless and the sticker is now red its clearly shot HERES MY QUESTION..is it possible for me or to get somebody proffessional to retrieve my numbers from dead phone? I have 25 years of client's numbers and they aren't backed up ( I know Im an idiot) There's one more thing..I was already going to get a new phone as the charger wouldn't go in the plug in phone as it was broken (my hubby has same phone so I was just charging my battery in his phone) so cant get numbers out via phone charger cord.. I'm desperate any advice?
