Mobile broadband internet?

I am new to this forum and just upgraded from a sanyo 2700 to a LG optimus, I got a great deal on the LG, and my carrier, I wireless, has a new mobile hotspot option where I pay an extra $10 and the LG enables me to get WIFI on my laptop computer just by having the phone nearby. I currently pay about $50 a month for cricket mobile broandband and just wondering if this mobile wifi thing is any good, or if its as fast as what I have now, which is pretty fast. I dont want to set this all up and then have slow ass internet on my laptop!

Apple highlights third-party mapping applications in iOS App Store

A new featured link on the iOS App Store invites users to "Find maps for your iPhone," and lists a number of paid and free alternatives to Apple's own Maps application in iOS 6.




The new link appeared on the App Store on Friday, after Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook himself highlighted competing options in an apology to customers. Since the launch of iOS 6 with Apple's all-new mapping solution, users have complained that the software is substandard.

"While we're improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest, and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app," Cook wrote.

In addition to the public apology, the new "Find maps for your iPhone" is the first featured link on the iOS App Store curated by Apple. It offers a list of 13 alternative mapping applications available for download. They are:

I saw a commercial for a new phone and it had edge to edge display. I can't remember what the name of the phone was though. I was interested in getting some more information on it. Does anyone know what the name of it is?

How often do you buy a new cell phone?

It seems like most of the people I know are constantly buying new cell phones. In some cases, they're just hard on the devices so they get broken but a lot seem to just 'have to have' the absolute latest technology and features. I'm not as attached to my phone so I tend to research a lot and then keep the phone I buy for as long as it works well. What about you?

locating a lost cell phone ???????????

Is there a way to locate your phone if you lose it?

Example: you set it on your bumper and drove away and it fell off within a 10 miles stretch of road. Or someone steals it.

I have a droid and would like to increase my chances of finding it if it gets misplaced.

Scratched the screen

Last week, my screen protector started to peel off in the corner so I took it off fully intending to go to the Verizon store and have a new one put on. However life happened and I was not able too. This morning I went to get out of the car and my phone fell out of the clip. I have a big scratch on my screen now. It doesn't seem that deep, is there something that might buff it out?
