Cell Phone Selector

Posted: 19 Jan 2012 06:02 AM PST

Hi All

I'm looking for a new phone, and reading ordinary reviews online has only helped increase my "fustration".

I've grown tired of the less than perfect batterylife, on my smartphone, so i have been considering going back to an ordinary "candybar", combined with a tablet.

Basicly im looking for:

Good Battery Life
Good Call Quality
Exchange Email, contacts and Calendar.
Thethering for tablet, WIFI prefered, but Bluetooth DUN is acceptable.

3,5mm jack and FM radio would be a plus in my book, but is optional.

My own best bet is a Nokia C5-00, but im unsure about the call quality.

Just to be clear, i have no problems with iOS, Android or Windows Phone, im just trying to think outside the box, and to see if i find something i like.

So i turn to you guys and girls. Input for other models, and things to consider, will be greatly appreciated. Good Hunting

What do you find yourself doing more on your cell phone?

Posted: 18 Jan 2012 09:13 AM PST

Here is a simple poll to see what people are doing most on their cell phone. In the past, it was only used to talk with. But now these things can do everything like talk, text, web, apps, games, pictures, videos and so on.

I find myself texting more with my cell phone at this time. But playing games is right up there too. :)

Samsung LG340g Numerical Format has disappeared from my internet browser I can't get problem fixed?

Posted: 15 Jan 2012 03:21 PM PST

[SIZE=5]I am through Walmart's prepaid cell service Straight Talk, and I have the Samsung LG340g, Whenever I press and hold the # key to use numerical format on my internet, it no longer works. It has worked ever since I got this phone just fine for the past few months, now the numerical format disappeared when I'm on the internet. It goes from abc, to Abc, to ABC, but skips 123. The numerical format disappeared sometime yesterday. You can't just use the number pad when you are on the internet on this phone, you have to toggle between formats. It seems like 123 format is disabled completely, and I have talked with support over the phone, no one can't figure it out. I was transferred around between 3 different customer service representatives. And, I've even tired email support on my computer, but issue still has not resolved. I can hit the star key (*) and pull up symbols to key in commas, parenthesis, etc, but 123 format or numerical format skips, like there is some kind of glitch that just happened yesterday. What do I do if no one can't figure this out because I can't check facebook, email, or sign onto yahoo answers because my passwords all require numbers in it, and I can NOT type dang numbers anymore. Only happening on my cell phone's internet browser, I can text and call people just fine.

Recording A Cell Phone Call

Posted: 13 Jan 2012 09:22 PM PST

I have a BOSS PS-5 Pitch Shifter pedal I use with my guitar and I want to use it to prank call/play a joke on someone I know :D (haha... you'd have to know them... and I'm really bored)... anyway I want to record it on my Olympus VN-4100PC Voice Recorder... I bought a Radio Shack Wireless Phone Recording Controller 17-855 on ebay to record it but the problem I'm having is the headset I have has 2 1/8" output cables... one for the microphone and one for the headphone/ear. I need to be able to run the mic cable through the pedal (1/4" input and output) and then bring it back together with the ear cable, run them both into a Y adapter (2 1/8 female to 1 3/32 male) so I can input it into the Recording Controller. I haven't bought my adapters yet but I'm starting to doubt whether the layout of this will work when they get merged back together as the go into the controller and the into the phone. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!

Just FYI the jack sizes are:
3/32 stereo male from the controller to cell phone
1/8 mono male from the controller to recorder
3/32 stereo female input for the headset
both headset cables are 1/8 stereo male
both input and output on the pedal are 1/4 mono
