Use UK phone in USA?

Posted: 23 Nov 2012 08:48 AM PST

I bought a Samsung E2600 while in England, serviced by Orange, and am wondering if there is any way to reconfigure its settings for use in the US.

As a cell phone ignoramus, I have no idea whether the settings are adjustable.

Thanks in advance for advice.

Having a custom ROM on your phone can affect unlocking your phone

Posted: 23 Nov 2012 03:10 AM PST

Hi guys,

I wrote an article on this yesterday and thought it could help a few people on here.

To read the full article, check it out here: http://www.mobileunlocked.co.uk/news...one-unlocking/

We've noticed that a lot of people now have custom ROMs on their handsets, which is done by "bootloading" or "rooting" the phone. Doing this allows people to use whichever software they wish on the phone, essentially spicing things up a little and unlocking the potential of the hardware.

This is happening more and more because people are becoming more reluctant to keep spending hundreds on a new phone every two years. They are therefore deciding to keep an older phone and install a new software. It's the same reason why more people than ever are choosing to unlock their phones through a service like ours.

Because of these rises it worth noting that having a custom ROM can affect your phones ability to know it needs a code. This can show itself in the manner of the phone not requesting the unlock code when it should or saying that it has accepted the unlock code, but then not working.

There is a simple solution for this

All you have to do is temporarily revert the phone back to the original software. This needs to be done only so you can enter the unlock code. Once this is done the lock will remain permanently inactive, and you can then reinstall the software you had chosen.

I hope that helps a few people on here. It'll be great to hear on this thread if it does.

As always, if you have any questions, please do ask.

Darren.

Heart Rate Apps

Posted: 21 Nov 2012 02:22 PM PST

Do you think any of the heart rate apps out there can really detect your heart rate and judge it accurately? I was reading about one that has a free version and a premium version (for $1) that uses the camera to somehow judge your heart rate. Think it really works?

iPhone vs Android

I've never had an iPhone before, but a few of my friends swear up and down that they're the best phones out there. What's your opinion? Is iPhone better than Android, is Android better than iPhone, or are they both about the same?

Best Free App For Automation

Posted: 20 Nov 2012 09:46 AM PST

I want a free app that is similar to the automation app Tasker. What are some of the best free automation apps out there? If there aren't any free apps that will do the same thing, are there cheaper apps? If so, what are they and how much do they cost?

how to transfer SMS and other kinds of data from most phone to computer quickly.

i;ve got some old mobile phones (bought in 2003,2005,2007...) , some are Nokia and some are samsung, Panasonic and none of them are Android or windows mobile system, they are feature phones, not smartphone. Is there any universal software / method to transfer SMS and other kinds of data (e.g. pic/video) from those phones to the computer
