I am in the market for a cellphone that is compatible with CSpire service. How can I know if the phone I purchase will be compatible with CSpire service. CSpire employees discourage buying a phone from anyone except CSpire (of course!). However, their prices are out of this world!

But my phone only asks for my phone password even after incorrectly entering a wrong password 70 times. How can I get past this? (It really is my phone BTW)

Insurance Claims Percentages?

Posted: 21 Feb 2013 12:00 PM PST

I am a college student trying to finish a statistics paper which involves showing different correlations between people making cell phone claims through their insurance providers and which phones they own. Additionally I am looking to see if these correlate into how long a customer has been insured. I have already tried my best to Google for as much information with little to no results. I have also tried to call all of the cell phone insurance companies I could find however their call centers do not appear to know this information. Does anyone have a link or any information about this. Anything you guys have will be appreciated.

Help choosing a budget Tracfone

Posted: 20 Feb 2013 02:12 PM PST

I'm not sure if this is a good forum to ask about Tracfones in. You seem to discuss a lot of the nicer cell phones. Is it okay to ask about Tracfones here? If not, I really apologize. I'll just ask my question and if this is the wrong site for that, just let me know and I'll buzz off. *giggle*

I've got a little money for now so I'm looking to upgrade. I could probably afford something up to $60-ish. Definitely can't afford anything over $80 so that would be my absolute max but would prefer to keep it to $60 or less. Yes, it really does have to be a tracfone because I'm using the SafeLink program.

What would you guys say is the best Tracfone these days? I know Tracfone doesn't have an android phone but they do have a couple of touch screen phones.. the LG 800g and LG 840g. What do you guys think of those two phones? And are there other, better, choices?

I mostly use my phone to make calls, text a little, and use the alarm. Wifi stuff would be nice, but not necessary. I hate texting with the number pad but haven't really looked at phones with the qwerty keyboard because I have fat fingers and I'm worried I'd have a hard time hitting those tiny buttons.

Anyway, any help would be so appreciated. =)

Cell Phone VS Smart Phone

Posted: 20 Feb 2013 07:22 AM PST

I am starting this thread because I am frustrated with the changes in the mobile phone industry. It is almost impossible to find a cell phone that is manufactured for the sole purpose of making and receiving phone calls.

I use a phone to make and receive phone calls. Nothing more. I don't need a lame excuse for a camera. Even the newest phones do not compare to the resolution, versatility and quality that can be obtained with a digital SLR camera.

Further, I don't need to surf the internet with a phone, I have a desktop computer at home and a laptop when I am away from home. And the screen size is so many times larger that viewing the web doesn't require a magnifying glass.

Additionally, I have observed that the quality of the calls on these so called smart phones is terrible. Understanding what someone is saying while they are talking through one of those things is often near impossible.

Look around today and notice that you can go almost anywhere and see the Zombies, totally consumed by these things. Walking along the street, focused intently, head down, holding these things, thumbs furiously manipulating the keys, completely oblivious to the world around them.

I see them in their cars and trucks, speeding up and slowing down, wandering far beyond their lane, distracted by some text message when they should be concentrating on driving. These numbskulls are a hazard to everyone on the road. Government has had to enact laws prohibiting their use while operating motor vehicles because the masses are too stupid to use their feeble brains and exercise the proper discretion to not use these things while driving.

People are actually getting injured and killed because dimwits think it is OK to drive and text.

What is so important about a text message that it takes precedence over the safe operation of a motor vehicle, and the safety of others on the road?

So how is it that almost overnight, the business of mobile communications has evolved into this monster that has turned the majority of people into zombie like morons who apparently do not care about anything but these pocket sized devices that don't really do anything well, especially send and receive phone calls?

Bad IMEI #

Posted: 13 Feb 2013 03:57 AM PST

So I'm looking to buy a Galaxy Note II off Craigslist. I am only looking to buy brand new ones and will not sniff it if I don't see unbroken seals and everything in place, clean, and working once I open it.

My question is about the IMEI #. I know all about them and how T-Mobile can block the phone if it was stolen or the guy didn't pay the bills. I also know that the IMEI can be clean when I buy it and then be blocked in a few weeks.

My real question is, would a brand new phone have a blocked IMEI? If I call T-Mobile with the IMEI number can they tell me if it's in process of being blacklisted in the case that somebody reported it stolen or if it's been activated previously so I can avoid being blocked 2-4 weeks later?

Thanks.

I've been receiving calls for quite awhile now from someone I have a protection order out on. I submitted my phone bills to my attorney and his were subpoened and they aren't on his bill as outgoing calls, only on mine as incoming. How is this possible? Now they are accusing me of faking them, but I haven't. I have a Motorola Droid through Verizon. Thanks.

Verifying a phone is new

Posted: 10 Feb 2013 07:08 PM PST

When buying a phone off somebody that they claim is new, is checking the seal the best way to verify it outside of opening it up? For example I am looking to buy a Galaxy Note II and if they claim it's new, is checking to see if the t-mobile seal on the box is unripped a solid way to verify that it's brand new?

I mean is it possible to buy a seal and just stick it on there without making it look like the old one was ever broken? For those who are confused about the seal I'm talking about, I'm talking about the WARNING seal that all T-Mobile boxs come with.

Thanks.

Air Mouse Glove

Posted: 28 Jan 2013 12:18 AM PST

Air Mouse Glove is very similar to a glove. It is even like a glove when you see it from distance. Air Mouse Glove has a very ingenious personal design. It has been embedded several sensors inside, which can track all the motions from users' wrist and finger, and transfer all the signals to the computer. And the ring on the index finger has the same function with the right button on the mouse.

You just need to move your hand to move the cursor. Comparing to the common mouse, the operation is much easier. Its function is a little like the Kinect. In addition, Air Mouse Glove does not need any special software to support. You just need to insert the sensor into the USB interface, and then operate the TV Box, PC and any other Android devices. You can view it here: extraordinary-gadgets.net/use-the-air-mouse-glove-to-operate-your-tv-box.html
