News: Mozilla Firefox app coming to Android Honeycomb tablets

Posted: 30 Aug 2011 03:55 PM PDT

Android Honeycomb tablets will soon get to enjoy the benefits of Mozilla Firefox as Mozilla has announced that they will have an app for the Android Honeycomb tablets. The look of the Firefox app will still look the same, but according to Mozilla, will have more of a Honeycomb-like theme as well as features that you won't find in the stock browser.

The app will feature the Awesomebar, signature tab and the back button, but the tabs will now be located on the left, which is said to show you more of the search results. Honeycomb tablet users will also find that the tab menus have been improved by Mozilla, so when you switch between the landscape and portrait mode, the tab menus will switch depending on which you decide to use.

News: Toshiba coming out with a thinner tablet

Posted: 30 Aug 2011 02:52 AM PDT

If you are looking for a tablet, you probably don't want one that is on the thick side. The Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tablets are probably some of the thinner tablets out there but when it comes to Toshiba tablets such as The Thrive, it is a thicker than the rest.

That is all soon about to change, as Toshiba will soon launch a tablet that is a lot thinner and that will run on Android Honeycomb. The only thing we know about this upcoming Toshiba tablet, is that it will have a front facing camera, Micro HDMI ports, Micro USB, 3.5mm headset jack and a MicroSD card slot. It's not been announced or confirmed, but it's expected to be a 10 inch tablet.

Pricing and availability have not been announced, but we are hoping that the tablet will be announced at the September 1 event at IFA.

*** Sprint IPhone ***

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 05:21 AM PDT

Everybody I talk to who has Verizon or AT&T is switching over to Sprint in October
when the IPhone 5 is released from Sprint..
I talked to people who have Sprint now that have the HTC and love Sprint as their
carrier right now and will never change.
I have AT&T and am fed up with dropped calls all the time, especially when I'm on
an important call with a Doctor etc. I would say out of every 10 calls I'm on 4 of them
get dropped sometimes twice with the same call.. Now I'm definintely leaving AT&T for sure and thought about Verizon but now with everybody and their mother telling me
how great Sprint is, I think I might also join them.
Anybody else have experience with Sprint or can enlighten me on why they are
a great Wireless Carrier..

Thanks,
Al.

how to show land-line number on CID

Posted: 24 Aug 2011 12:35 PM PDT

I read a news article this week about spoofing caller ID...

http://nyti.ms/nqnqK8

Crooks are using this capability to do some bad stuff. But the article also points out that there are legitimate uses for modifying the caller ID -- for example a doctor who doesn't want to show cell number to patients.

My brother is a doctor. He asked me to find out how to do this. He wants his office number to show up on patients' CID display. Anyone know how to do this?

Buy a phone, 2 year or supertab?

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 07:20 PM PDT

Hi, I just wanted to know which option is the best in terms of saving money, I live in Canada.

I'm looking for a low-mid range smartphone such as the Samsung Gio or LG optimus Chat, I only have 3 criteria, capacitive touchscreen, android and wifi.

However, I'm debating whether I should buy such a phone and go with a $20 talk/text plan, or I should get a 2 year $25 talk/text plan and get the phone free, or I should get the phone free and slowly pay it off using a tab.

The only reason why I'm thinking of buying the phone is because I can go with mobilicity which has a family plan which will cost me $20 a month, but if I wanted a free phone the cheapest plan I could go with would be a $25 plan for 2 years or put $150 on a tab and pay it off with monthly bills
