| Google Files another Patent For Notification's Pull Down Bar(In 2009) Posted: 17 Feb 2012 05:26 AM PST Yup, it's true. I can't tell how you many furious comments I read back when Apple introduced their "all new" and "revolutionary" Notification Center feature in iOS, complete with a handy pull-down bar. Many Android fans screamed from the rooftops, "Why hasn't Google applied for a patent on the notification bar!? Why don't they even care!?" Well, they do and they did. What you're looking at above you is Google's application for a patent on their notification bar system, filed back in January of 2009. Yeah, things move slow over at the USTPO. Application number 12/363,325 which is still pending is described as, "A computer-implemented user notification method includes displaying, in a status area near a perimeter of a graphical interface, a notification of a recent alert event for a mobile device, receiving a user selection in the status area, and in response to the receipt of the user selection, displaying, in a central zone of the graphical interface, detail regarding a plurality of recent messaging events for the mobile device." | Info: vzw contract customer care-info and tips Posted: 16 Feb 2012 07:44 PM PST hello vzw customers, and welcome to the world of throttling,or optimization,a word you will soon know,if u have a 3g phone your speed will be affected by what is referred to as congestive fraffic,if you have 4g you will not be affected----yet,if you have unlimited data-2gb @ $30-or 4gb @30-does not matter-vzw will honor gb pkg -but never states at what speed you rcv data, does not matter what speed your device is capable of,but what speed vzw allows you - due to congestive tower traffic, and what determines congestive and which towers is at best sketchy and hazy, also 2 yrs or more vzw has been using contract customer care-and have been sharing info,DO NOT ORDER PHONE ON PHONE W-CUST -CARE-if you rder new phone-vzw reserves the right to send out phone used by another and returned-read your contract,in the past contract cust.care was not allowed to process orders, thats no longer the case, and hasnt been for over 1 yrr,now vzw is pushing upgrades, and new features heavy, and discouraging 14-day worry-free policy,by questionable techniques such as forget to include return label-telling customers at store that computer system is down to come back in a couple of days to process-when 14-days is up , yuor stuck w/phone and contract-etf included, also at the store customers are being told activation will be waived and other promises and tell customeer to call customer service to have credited, customer service can submit credit req but it will be denied,do not blame contract-customer service vzw ultimately makes decision, all calls are recorded and customer service is trained how to respond and are monitored to meet compliance, and pushed to sale-sale-sale-even bionics ,to 80 yr,old grandma, its to bad , vzw does have best network, $ for $ ,and w/att spiral downward really leaves not a whole lot of choices, every since att attempt to buy t-mobile failed things have not been good-and will not improve anytime soon, riffraff |
