| News: Charging Cell Phones May Come Down To New Solar Powered Screens Posted: 26 Mar 2011 09:37 AM PDT Wysips is a French company that has this great idea of shrinking a solar panel into nothing more than a thin transparent fil that fits on the screen of your phone. The purpose of this thin transparent film is to grab energy from the sun or light and covert it into power. Although the purpose is to charge your cell phone, you would still need a battery as the film would not be able to power the phone completely and give you the full functionablity of your cellular device. This solar film is less than 100 microns and is very flexible and will still allow you to fully use your touchscreen without any effect. It is Wysips hope that carriers and mobile companies will integrate this technology. Wysips plans on having this not only available for phones but for tablets within the next 12 months. The big advantage of this new concept, if it is accepted and goes forth, is that it will make devices thinner and will decrease the cost of manufacturing where battery is concerned as the battery will be a little thinner, which in turn, could cut the cost of the products themselves. via: No More Chargers! | Posted: 25 Mar 2011 02:29 PM PDT Ok, this is just bugging me a bit. I got a text message yesterday morning from my sister saying "meet me at the park." I had no clue about this and called her to ask what she meant. She said she never sent any text to me. Later that day I got a 2nd text saying the same thing, again from my sister. Again she said she never made it. Before anyone says this, no it was not a joke on her part. We called metro pcs and they confirmed the text were sent from her phone. Anyone have a clue what is going on here? Has anyone heard or seen anything like this? |
