Posted: 23 Sep 2014 06:44 AM PDT

Clear an Application Data / Cache:

NOTE: In case one of your apps isn't working as it should, then you should know that you can fix various issues with a specific app by clearing its cache or data.

WARNING! Clearing an application's data will delete all personal information stored in the app, including settings, credit card and log in information, saved games, profiles etc. That being said, it's advised that you first try and fix these issues by clearing the app's cache.

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Applications"
  4. Go to the "All" screen and select the desired app
  5. Tap "Clear cache"
  6. If clearing the cache has not solved the issue, try tapping "Clear data" > "OK" (Note the warning message above)

Wipe the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone is acting up, it freezes, crashes or doesn't work as it should, then you might be able to fix these issues by wiping the phone's cache partition. Unlike a master reset which removes all personal data stored on the device, wiping the cache partition will not affect personal information. To wipe the cache:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Power" and "Volume up" buttons at the same time
  3. When the first menu screen appears, release the hardware keys
  4. Use "Volume down" to highlight the desired language and press "Power"
  5. Press "Volume down" to navigate to "Wipe cache partition"
  6. Press "Power" to select the option
  7. Once the cache partition has been wiped, "Reboot system now" will be highlighted
  8. Press "Power" to reboot your smartphone

NOTE: If clearing the cache hasn't solved the issue(s) then you might want to try and factory reset your smartphone. To learn how you can factory reset the Alcatel OneTouch Evolve 2, visit the link.

Rebooting in Safe Mode:

NOTE: In case you want to remove an application that prevents you from removing it while running processes in the background, then you can easily dispose of it by rebooting your device in Safe Mode. In Safe Mode all third party apps are disabled. To enter Safe Mode and uninstall an app:

  1. Press and hold the "Power" key
  2. Once prompted, tap and hold "Power off" on the display
  3. When asked about rebooting in safe mode, tap "OK"
  4. After the phone finishes restarting, a "Safe Mode" message should be present in the lower-left area of the screen
  5. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
  6. Go to "Settings"
  7. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Applications"
  8. From the "All" screen, select the application you want to remove
  9. Tap "Uninstall" > "OK"
