How-to: Easily copy SIM card contacts from one card to another

Posted: 28 Oct 2013 08:47 AM PDT

I found a nifty little device that will help you get your contacts (and messages, if they're stored on the SIM) from phone A to phone B. This is especially useful if you have one size of sim card and need to move to another size, like micro to mini or mini to nano.

Amazon.com: Dekart SIM Card Reader for Windows PC: Computers & Accessories

Click image for larger version.     Name:	41aGJVtfYvL.jpg   Views:	56   Size:	18.5 KB   ID:	53593

Here are the specs:

  • Read, edit and backup personal information stored on any GSM SIM, 3G USIM, Nextel iDEN, CDMA R-UIM, Iridium and Inmarsat cards.
  • Search, edit, add and delete phone entries in the SIM card; back-up and restore SIM cards
  • Compatible with SIM cards from any mobile operator
  • Exchange contacts with Outlook via CSV files
  • Manage PLMN and reduce roaming charges

The reader comes with software for Windows:
  • compatible with all versions of Windows (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • manage PLMN and FPLMN

Galaxy S4 knockoff on PureTalk

Posted: 26 Oct 2013 07:34 AM PDT

I bought a Galaxy S4 knockoff from China. The brand name is M-Horse S4 mini. Before I bought it, I asked the seller if it would work on the AT&T network. My service provider, PureTalk, uses the AT&T network.

He said it would. So now I have the phone, and PureTalk is asking what kind of phone it is. I didn't know how to answer the question (S4 knockoff, or M-Horse. They asked me if the SIM was standard size or mini. I said Standard, turns out (I think), it's a mini.

They sent a Standard size card, which doesn't work.

My question is, does anybody know exactly what SIM card will work in this phone (very nice phone, by the way)? Do SIM cards have ID numbers?

The seller says its a GSM 2G, which will not work on 3G or 4G networks. I'm hoping AT&T will accept this 2G phone. The seller gave me a frequency for the SIM:
850/900/1800/1900 MHZ.

That's all the info I have. Can anyone tell me what SIM card to get from PureTalk?

Wes

Will this phone make it ?

Posted: 25 Oct 2013 09:06 AM PDT

This phone is ( almost ) a perfect clone of the Samsung S 3 and it's features may equal it. Though its not as durable as the north Korean company's phone, this mobile's actually very stylish. Mostly available in white colour ( which I like very much ),
most people would mistaken it for the Giant's Smartphone. Its features ;

5.7" ISP Capacitive Touch Screen Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean S-pen Pad Phone, MTK6589 1.2Ghz CPU Quad-core, 1G RAM + 4G ROM, Dual Camera, Dual SIM

But can it make it ? Please share your predictions and share it with me.
