How-to: Easily copy SIM card contacts from one card to another

I found a nifty little device that will help you get your contacts (and messages, if they're stored on the SIM) from phone A to phone B. This is especially useful if you have one size of sim card and need to move to another size, like micro to mini or mini to nano.

Here are the specs:

  • Read, edit and backup personal information stored on any GSM SIM, 3G USIM, Nextel iDEN, CDMA R-UIM, Iridium and Inmarsat cards.
  • Search, edit, add and delete phone entries in the SIM card; back-up and restore SIM cards
  • Compatible with SIM cards from any mobile operator
  • Exchange contacts with Outlook via CSV files
  • Manage PLMN and reduce roaming charges

The reader comes with software for Windows:
  • compatible with all versions of Windows (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • manage PLMN and FPLMN
  • print SIM phonebook
  • export contacts to CSV files to synchronize with PIM software, such as Outlook
  • edit fixed dialing numbers and last dialed numbers
  • wipe SIM card, leaving no trace of private data
  • make multiple copies of a SIM card
  • manage PIN codes of a SIM card
