Disabling Bluetooth and GPS: Bluetooth and GPS are two of the most battery-demanding features on your smartphone. In order to conserve battery life, it's highly recommended that you disable these features when not in use. To do so, simply: - Pull the notification bar down, from the top, while viewing the home screen
- Tap the switches associated with "Bluetooth" and "GPS", and make sure that they are set to "OFF"
Toggling from 3G to 2G connectivity: Generally speaking, 3G connectivity requires more battery than 2G connectivity to function. If you run low on battery, you can switch from 3G to 2G by following the steps below: - Tap the "All apps" icon located on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Wireless & Networks", tap "More
"
- Tap "Mobile networks" > "Network mode"
- Select either "WCDMA only" or "GSM only". Both of these options are basically 2G
Updating to the Latest Available Software Version: Note: this tip only works as long as the manufacturer has released a new software update that improves battery life, or fixes possible issues with battery life on your device. Otherwise, performing an update does not necessarily result in higher battery life. Also, if no update is available, performing the steps below will have no effect. - From the home screen, tap "All Apps"
- Select "Settings"
- Under "System", tap "About phone"
- Tap "System Update" and then press the "Check for Software updates" button
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it

| Best Phone for up tp 400$? Posted: 18 Oct 2013 01:57 AM PDT Hi all, I'm looking to replace my old, buggy and barely functioning Samsung Galaxy S. The budget is up to 400$ and the key features I want are: 1) A fast and responsive deice(Good CPU, RAM, Touch response etc.) 2) A good camera 3) Not too big: Glaxy SIII size is the maximum, an iPhone 5 size is great. 4a) A popular model so that online support & accessories are easy to access :) 4b) I think It has to be Android or iOS for the same reason as 4a. 5) this is not exactly a feature but I will point out that I live outside of the US so I need an unlocked or at least an unlock-able phone. 6) New phone (not used). So far I think the Galaxy SIII is a good option, but I'm open to suggestions. Also, if I choose to go with galaxy SIII - which one should I get? there are several models and so far the i9300 seems the best from what I checked out. Thx in advance, ZBBZ. |
